  • "Challenges for an industrial group in managing globalisation" - A talk by Prof. Dr. Edward G. Krubasik, Executive Vice President of Siemens AG (talk, followed by a discussion).* Sommerfest with classical concert.
  • Participation in the International Festival at Bechtel International Center.
  • Cohost of German National Merit Foundation Postgraduate Conference “Arbeitswelt Deutschland/USA" at Stanford.
  • Attended Bruckner's 5th symphony performed by the San Francisco Symphony.
  • Euromed VIII party together with the Scandinavian, French, Lebanese, Spanish, Italian, Greek and Turkish student associations.

  • Lunch with former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt and minister of defense Volker Ruehe (image).

1999

  • An informal discussion with Dr. Edmund Stoiber (Ministerpräsident of Bavaria), presidents of several bavarian universities and bavarian business representatives.
